Software Dev Engineer (DevOps)

What you will do

• Own production backend systems, databases, automated data pipelines, and processing services for Prime Air drone delivery.
• Design and maintain build, test, and deployment pipelines supporting safe and reliable software delivery.
• Architect and operate AWS data infrastructure using services such as Aurora Serverless PostgreSQL, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, SQS, EventBridge, CloudWatch, and IAM.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and scaling across environments with CDK and CloudFormation.
• Improve reliability through monitoring, alerting, troubleshooting, capacity planning, performance profiling, cost optimization, and security hardening.
• Collaborate with engineering and science teams, participate in code reviews, technical discussions, documentation, on-call operations, and agile CI/CD practices.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Bachelor's or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related STEM field.
• Graduation expected between October 2025 and September 2026, or within the last 24 months.
• Experience with at least one general-purpose programming language, such as Python, C++, C#, Go, Rust, or TypeScript.
• Knowledge of data structures, basic algorithms, object-oriented design, databases, or AWS services.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to participate in operational responsibilities, including on-call duties.

Nice to have

• Technical internship or substantial project experience.
• Experience with AWS services, DevOps practices, operational data processing, or infrastructure automation.
• Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle and ability to learn new technologies quickly.
