TL;DR
Senior Site Reliability Engineer (AWS): Operating and improving production reliability for Eversports’ B2C and B2B sports applications with an accent on observability, incident response, automation, and disaster recovery. Focus on designing SRE practices across interconnected AWS systems, strengthening CI/CD and compliance, and enabling application teams to own reliability.
Location: Vienna, Austria; hybrid work from the office and home office.
Minimum annual gross salary: €70,000 for a full-time 35-hour week, with potential adjustments based on position and experience.

What you will do
- Own monitoring, alerting, and observability across the AWS production environment.
- Develop a system-wide view of interconnected production systems and prioritize high-impact reliability improvements.
- Lead incident investigations, root-cause analysis, long-term remediation, and on-call practices.
- Enable application teams to manage their own metrics, alarms, and runbooks.
- Structure infrastructure request intake and automate repetitive operational work.
- Improve backup, recovery, disaster-recovery, security, compliance, and CI/CD practices in partnership with Platform Engineering.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering for mid- or large-scale production systems.
- Experience operating complex, interconnected production systems end to end and working in an environment with mature SRE practices.
- Strong AWS infrastructure operations experience and practical knowledge of SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and alerting strategy.
- Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL, observability tools, incident management, and on-call processes.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably AWS CDK, plus proficiency in at least two programming languages such as TypeScript/Node.js, Bash, or Python.
- Proficiency in CI/CD and deployment automation, and fluent written and verbal English.
Nice to have
- Experience with ECS Fargate, Lambda, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, or RDS MySQL.
- Experience coaching teams in reliability practices.
- Verbal German communication skills.
