Junior Fullstack Engineer

Location: Remote or hybrid within the United Kingdom, with attendance in Bournemouth required once a month.

What you will do

• Contribute across the full stack, including databases, backend services, frontend applications, APIs, and mobile components.
• Work on the Wellbeing stack, Better Care API, Wellbeing Backend, and parts of the Wellbeing mobile app.
• Design and build scalable systems serving thousands of requests per minute and handling hundreds of millions of database records.
• Participate in pair programming, code reviews, automated testing, sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Develop estimates, contribute to planning discussions, review peer code, and learn the deployment process.
• Work with established and evolving technologies as the platform grows.

Requirements

• Grounding in object-oriented development and a good understanding of day-to-day software engineering practices.
• Programming experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, PHP, Ruby, Java, C++, Rust, or Go.
• Computer Science or related degree, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong curiosity about software development, ideally demonstrated through personal projects or self-directed coding.
• Collaborative problem-solving skills and a genuine willingness to learn.
• Ability to attend the Bournemouth location once a month and provide appropriate UK Right to Work documents.
