Senior Regulatory Specialist (Mining)

Location: Remote within Canada, with listed locations in Whitehorse, Vancouver, Saskatoon, and Calgary

Salary: CAD 130,000–170,000 per year

Environmental consulting and remediation business focused on environmental assessments, permitting, regulatory compliance, water treatment, mine water management, and turnkey remediation services.

What you will do

• Lead water use licensing, environmental permitting applications, assessments, and related studies for mining and industrial projects.
• Provide senior technical direction, compliance guidance, governance support, and reviews of technical deliverables.
• Build integrated project schedules, manage critical paths, and lead multidisciplinary project teams.
• Engage with governments, First Nations, stakeholders, and communities through meetings, workshops, and regulatory processes.
• Track legislative and regulatory changes and coordinate the distribution of regulatory information internally.
• Support proposals, business development, client relationships, mentoring, and technical training for junior and intermediate staff.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in environmental consulting, A/E/C, or a relevant industry.
• Experience building relationships with First Nations and all levels of government.
• Knowledge of impact assessment and licensing regimes in Yukon, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, British Columbia, and other jurisdictions.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary projects and collaborating effectively with technical teams.
• Strong organizational, time-management, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other business software.
