Senior AI/ML Engineer (Industrial AI)

Location: Parma, Italy; hybrid schedule with 3 days on-site and 2 days working from home.

What you will do

• Shape practical technical solutions for ambiguous AI, ML, and data problems.
• Break complex initiatives into technical components, dependencies, and executable engineering work.
• Evaluate trade-offs across data, models, systems, reliability, cost, performance, and complexity.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership while collaborating with engineers, data scientists, product specialists, and domain experts.
• Establish engineering practices and patterns for reliable, maintainable, and scalable AI/ML systems.

Requirements

• Significant experience building real-world AI, ML, or data products.
• Strong understanding of the full AI/ML lifecycle, from data and modelling through production.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, particularly in Python.
• Experience with data-intensive or time-series systems and large-scale datasets.
• Ability to reason about system design, dependencies, scalability, reliability, and operational constraints.
• Clear communication of technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Apache Spark, Databricks, or MLflow.
• Background in predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, energy forecasting, or industrial sensor data.
• Experience taking early-stage or uncertain initiatives through to production-ready solutions.
