Senior Deep Learning Scientist (AI)

Location: On-site in Rome, Italy

Salary: €48,000–€68,000 per year, with higher packages possible for exceptionally strong candidates.

What you will do

• Design multimodal deep learning neural architectures for the DVPS research project.
• Design, implement, and run experiments on large GPU and HPC computing infrastructures.
• Evaluate models, monitor the state of the art, and benchmark research progress.
• Coordinate technical activities and research roadmaps with project partners.
• Guide junior researchers, including PhD students and interns.
• Organize scientific publications and open-source releases of models, datasets, and benchmarks.

Requirements

• Completed PhD or at least four years of industry research experience in deep learning or machine learning.
• Experience guiding junior researchers and defining research projects and experiments.
• Excellent programming skills in PyTorch.
• Familiarity with Docker, Unix operating systems, and running GPU experiments.
• Relevant scientific publications, teaching, and research experience.
• Excellent command of English and availability for on-site work in Rome, Italy.

Nice to have

• GPU training and inference optimization experience.
• Open-source contributions or publications at leading ML and AI conferences.
• Polyglot abilities.
