Staff AI Engineer

Location: London, UK; hybrid work with office attendance Tuesday through Thursday and optional work from home on Mondays and Fridays.

What you will do

• Build the core harness for hirify.global's AI cloud coding agent.
• Develop agent capabilities for specification, testing, service reliability, and software development workflows.
• Design security and data-governance controls so agents access appropriate production data safely.
• Enable engineering teams to create AI actors that integrate with the software development lifecycle.
• Measure AI impact on development processes and share effective practices across teams.
• Own solutions end to end, from problem definition and design through deployment, monitoring, and iteration.

Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience in a mid-to-large-size organization.
• Commercial experience building AI tooling used by other engineers and improving developer experience.
• Strong full-stack TypeScript skills, including React or Next.js for engineering interfaces.
• Strong knowledge of LLMs, embeddings, MCPs, RAG, evaluations, and agentic platforms.
• Experience building production infrastructure with infrastructure as code, Kubernetes, or Lambda functions.
• Ability to influence practices across multiple teams and take ownership from design through production monitoring.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cloudflare infrastructure.
• Experience with Datadog, Sentry, or Grafana.
• Experience creating product guardrails such as SLOs and DORA metrics.
