Consultancy for Technical Support for Regional AT Advocacy and Social Behavior Change (Assistive Technology)

Location: Remote with travel to Fiji; duty station Suva

What you will do

• Generate behavioural evidence related to awareness, stigma, demand, and equitable uptake of assistive technology.
• Develop evidence-based advocacy strategies, communication frameworks, SBC tools, and practical toolkits.
• Facilitate accessible and participatory consultations and workshops with governments, organizations of persons with disabilities, civil society, and development partners.
• Produce clear, high-quality, user-friendly, and accessible materials, including screen-reader-compatible and captioned formats.
• Support regional approaches that strengthen assistive technology policy, financing, service delivery, and inclusive participation.

Requirements

• Advanced university degree in social and behaviour change, communication, public health, disability inclusion, international development, social sciences, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience designing and implementing advocacy, communication, and/or Social and Behaviour Change initiatives.
• Experience related to disability inclusion and rights-based approaches, preferably in the Pacific region or other multi-country contexts.
• Strong analytical, writing, presentation, consultation, facilitation, and collaboration skills.
• English is required.
• International consultant assignment conducted remotely with travel to Fiji.

Nice to have

• Experience engaging people with diverse disabilities and applying reasonable accommodation and inclusive facilitation techniques.
• Knowledge of the Pacific regional context.
• Experience with disability, education, child rights, or health-related programmes.
• Knowledge of Pacific languages.
