TL;DR
Private Cloud Infrastructure Specialist (Windows) (Windows/private cloud): Designing, building, and supporting secure, resilient operating system platforms for private cloud services with an accent on automation, infrastructure as code, security, and compliance. Focus on leading platform architecture, modernising hybrid infrastructure, hardening Windows environments, and mentoring teams on infrastructure engineering.
Location: Hybrid work in Leeds, with at least two days per week or 40% of working time at Leeds office sites.
Salary: £72,702–£80,780 per year.

What you will do
- Lead the architectural design of infrastructure platform technologies and products across the private cloud ecosystem.
- Build, maintain, and improve hybrid cloud products and services, working hands-on with operating systems.
- Drive automation, infrastructure-as-code practices, security, compliance, and repeatable delivery.
- Lead technical discussions with senior management, subject matter experts, and stakeholders with varied technical backgrounds.
- Collaborate with internal, external, and third-party teams while providing technical education and mentorship.
- Act as a subject matter expert in infrastructure engineering and contribute to continuous platform improvement.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience as an infrastructure engineer in a private cloud environment.
- Strong expertise with Windows operating systems from Windows Server 2012 onwards.
- Experience with automation tooling such as Chef, Terraform, Ansible, or Salt.
- Experience with Git or GitHub source code management.
- Knowledge of Windows security standards and operating system hardening.
- Availability for the required hybrid working pattern in Leeds.
Nice to have
- Experience with Dell OpenManage, VMware, NSX, or the VMware Aria suite.
- Knowledge of MSSQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle databases.
- Experience with SAN, NAS, vSAN, storage, backup, DHCP, WINS, or DNS.
- Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate or VMware Certified Professional certification.
- Experience in a government-regulated environment.
