Data Engineer (IBM Cognos)

What you will do

• Develop and maintain reporting and analytics solutions for retail banking performance and decision-making.
• Gather business requirements and translate them into scalable data and reporting solutions.
• Extract, transform, validate, and integrate data from multiple structured and unstructured sources.
• Design data ingestion, transformation, modelling, storage, and other data handling processes.
• Build dashboards and reports using Cognos and Power BI.
• Analyze complex datasets, ensure data quality, and present insights and recommendations to stakeholders.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in a data-related role.
• Expertise in IBM DataStage or similar ETL and data integration technologies.
• Strong SQL and relational database management system skills.
• Experience with data warehousing, data quality, business intelligence, and data modelling.
• Experience building Cognos and Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.

Nice to have

• Experience in banking, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
• Exposure to predictive analytics and statistical modelling.
• Knowledge of Python for data analysis and automation.
• Experience driving process improvement and presenting recommendations to senior stakeholders.
