Materials Manager (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Lead material planning, demand coverage, replenishment, and supply continuity for manufacturing schedules and customer commitments.
• Manage inventory optimization programs, including Kanban, Vendor Managed Inventory, safety stock, reorder points, cycle counting, and inventory accuracy.
• Develop supplier relationships and drive improvements in delivery, quality, lead times, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness.
• Partner with Commodity Managers on sourcing, supplier selection, negotiations, cost reduction, working capital, and supplier accountability.
• Coordinate with Production, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to resolve material issues and support new product introductions.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives while developing and mentoring materials, planning, purchasing, and inventory personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of progressive experience in materials management, production planning, purchasing, supply chain, inventory control, or manufacturing operations.
• Leadership experience managing cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, preferably Oracle, inventory management, demand planning, supplier management, procurement, and Lean Manufacturing.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, influencing, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and reporting tools, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• MBA, CPM, CPSM, APICS CPIM, CSCP, or an equivalent certification.
• Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing operations.
