Senior Web Content Strategist / Content Migration Lead

Location: Remote within Canada; potential travel within Canada

hirify.global is assembling a senior Canadian team for a potential large-scale digital experience modernization initiative involving multiple public-facing websites and a substantial existing content estate.

What you will do

• Lead content strategy for a multi-site, multi-brand digital ecosystem.
• Plan and execute large-scale content inventories and audits, determining which content to retain, consolidate, rewrite, archive, or retire.
• Improve content hierarchy, taxonomy, metadata, findability, and component-based content models with information architecture partners.
• Establish standards for plain language, readability, consistency, accessibility, governance, ownership, and publishing workflows.
• Plan and support large-scale CMS migration, including automated versus manual migration decisions, URL mapping, redirects, and SEO preservation.
• Develop guidance and training for content authors and publishers while collaborating with UX, business, and technology teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in web content strategy, content design, or a related field.
• Experience leading large-scale content audits and migrations involving 1,000+ pages.
• Hands-on experience with CMS migrations or re-platforming, beyond website copywriting.
• Experience working with complex multi-site or multi-brand organizations.
• Strong understanding of content design, taxonomy, metadata, information architecture, plain-language standards, accessibility, SEO, and sustainable content governance.
• Ability to collaborate closely with UX, information architecture, business analysis, and technology teams.

Nice to have

• Experience in government, public sector, higher education, financial services, or another regulated environment.
• Experience leading content strategy for a government or public-sector web modernization involving multiple sites and a major CMS migration.
• Ability to provide 2–3 relevant large-scale content transformation or migration projects, including page or site volume, role, and CMS or platform.
