TL;DR
Lead Product Owner (Healthcare Interoperability): Translating healthcare regulations and product strategy into scalable electronic prior authorization APIs, FHIR-based interoperability solutions, and Agile delivery backlogs with an accent on regulatory compliance, healthcare data exchange, and stakeholder alignment. Focus on prioritizing complex requirements, defining user stories and acceptance criteria, and guiding delivery teams through CMS interoperability mandates.

Location: Remote nationwide within the United States; occasional travel to hirify.global offices for training or meetings may be required. A dedicated workspace and reliable internet connection with at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload are required to protect PHI and support effective work.

Salary: $115,200–$158,400 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus incentive plan.

What you will do

  • Translate product strategy, CMS regulations, and operational requirements into prioritized backlogs, features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Guide Agile delivery for electronic prior authorization APIs, FHIR-based interoperability solutions, and related compliance initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary contact for Agile teams regarding information, prioritization, decisions, and product direction.
  • Coordinate with product management, engineering, architecture, compliance, operations, and business stakeholders.
  • Facilitate requirements discussions, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and user acceptance activities.
  • Mentor colleagues and improve product delivery and documentation practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, information systems, computer science, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Product Manager, or in a related healthcare technology role.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, Scrum practices, and tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
  • Experience translating business, regulatory, and operational requirements into user stories and product backlogs.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare interoperability, APIs, healthcare data exchange workflows, and cross-functional stakeholder management.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing requirements, and manage multiple initiatives in a regulated environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience with CMS Interoperability and Prior Authorization Final Rule requirements.
  • Knowledge of electronic prior authorization workflows, FHIR, HL7, Da Vinci Implementation Guides, and healthcare interoperability frameworks.
  • Experience with payer-provider workflows, utilization management, EHR partners, vendors, or interoperability providers.
  • SAFe Agile, Certified Scrum Product Owner, or related certification.
  • Experience with interoperability testing, implementation, production support, and healthcare regulatory compliance.
