TL;DR
Senior Software Engineer (Edge Computing): Building backend services and iOS camera applications for real-time player tracking, sports analytics, and broadcast augmentation with an accent on edge computing, video capture, and scalable distributed systems. Focus on designing concurrent HTTP and WebSocket services, operating large fleets of edge devices, and integrating computer vision, machine learning, GPU computing, and real-time video pipelines.
Location: Lausanne, Switzerland, with attendance at the Lausanne Jordils office four times per week. Swiss, EU, or EFTA citizenship, or a Swiss residency permit, is required.
Salary: CHF 140,000–155,000 per year.

What you will do
- Design and implement backend services and iOS camera application capabilities for the Capture platform.
- Build end-to-end deployment, monitoring, and diagnostics workflows for capture devices and services.
- Develop reliable software connecting cloud services, edge devices, iOS cameras, and real-time sports environments.
- Lead long-term technical initiatives and communicate design decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with engineers, share knowledge, provide actionable feedback, and participate in an on-call rotation focused on preventing recurring escalations.
Requirements
- Swiss, EU, or EFTA citizenship, or a Swiss residency permit.
- At least five years of experience as a backend or software engineer.
- Proficiency in Rust, Swift, or Go, with strong experience in concurrent programming.
- Experience designing, implementing, and operating complex HTTP and WebSocket services at scale.
- Experience with video systems, FFmpeg, video compression and streaming, machine learning inference, CNNs, GPU computing, and iOS camera APIs.
- Experience managing backward-compatible applications deployed across large fleets of edge devices and operating reliably in physically inaccessible environments.

- Experience with C++, Apple CoreML, Apple Metal, Tokio, Axum, Tonic, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, or AWS.
