Senior Application Support Engineer (Banking & Trade Finance)

Location: Porto, Portugal, with a hybrid model of up to 3 remote days per week. Existing legal right to work in the European Union is required.

What you will do

• Support and maintain test environments, including batch processes, message queues, and SQL scripts.
• Participate in technical incident management for production systems and minimize business impact.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts and developers to investigate issues and implement rapid solutions.
• Coordinate support activities across teams in Porto and Paris.
• Apply SQL, CI-CD, and Agile practices to improve operational workflows.
• Manage incident lifecycles using ServiceNow and Jira.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of application or support engineering experience in banking or financial services.
• Strong SQL skills and practical knowledge of Oracle databases, views, and scripting.
• Basic knowledge of Java, particularly backend development.
• Hands-on experience with Jenkins, XLD, and XLR or similar CI-CD tools.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow, Jira, and Scrum.
• Fluent English at C1 level and existing EU work authorization are required.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Control-M, CFT, MQ Series, FBTI, or XL Deploy.
• Experience in banking and Trade Finance.
