Senior Software Engineer, Backend FinPlatform (Fintech)

Location: Remote (US). Hybrid roles available in New York, San Francisco, and Salt Lake City (2-3 days per week in office).

Salary: $146,200 - $215,000 USD (based on location tier)

What you will do

• Implement backend systems supporting core business features including Payment, Billing, and Identity.
• Design, develop, test, and scale services and integrations to improve user and partner experiences.
• Collaborate with product and design peers to solve complex rent payment challenges.
• Lead the scoping, design, and implementation of APIs and drive production rollouts to completion.
• Deliver system changes in an agile manner using a cadence of small, frequent iterations.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of experience in software engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of experience with Java (Spring, Gradle, JUnit, JVM).
• Experience building fault-tolerant systems with multiple external dependencies and maintaining data pipelines.
• Proficiency with AWS (EKS, Aurora RDS, Elasticache, DynamoDB) and containerization tools.
• Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture, REST APIs, and Message Queues.
• Ability to work on a globally-distributed team.

Nice to have

• Proficiency in CI/CD systems, specifically GitHub Actions, and automation.
• Skill in observability and monitoring tools like DataDog.
• Experience with big data platforms and tooling, such as Snowflake.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using CDK and Terraform.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and elevating team standards.
