TL;DR
Senior Software Engineer (Java): Implementing backend systems for a rent payment platform with an accent on payment, billing, and identity services. Focus on designing scalable APIs, building robust data pipelines, and optimizing system reliability in a high-growth fintech environment.
Location: Remote (US). Hybrid roles available in New York, San Francisco, and Salt Lake City (2-3 days per week in office).
Salary: $146,200 - $215,000 USD (based on location tier)

What you will do
- Implement backend systems supporting core business features including Payment, Billing, and Identity.
- Design, develop, test, and scale services and integrations to improve user and partner experiences.
- Collaborate with product and design peers to solve complex rent payment challenges.
- Lead the scoping, design, and implementation of APIs and drive production rollouts to completion.
- Deliver system changes in an agile manner using a cadence of small, frequent iterations.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of experience in software engineering.
- Minimum 4 years of experience with Java (Spring, Gradle, JUnit, JVM).
- Experience building fault-tolerant systems with multiple external dependencies and maintaining data pipelines.
- Proficiency with AWS (EKS, Aurora RDS, Elasticache, DynamoDB) and containerization tools.
- Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture, REST APIs, and Message Queues.
- Ability to work on a globally-distributed team.
Nice to have
- Proficiency in CI/CD systems, specifically GitHub Actions, and automation.
- Skill in observability and monitoring tools like DataDog.
- Experience with big data platforms and tooling, such as Snowflake.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code using CDK and Terraform.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and elevating team standards.
