TL;DR
Cybersecurity Specialist (Qualys): Owns and continuously improves an enterprise Qualys vulnerability management platform with an accent on vulnerability scanning, asset data quality, integrations, and risk-based prioritization. Focus on validating AI-generated security insights, identifying attack paths and exposure trends, automating remediation workflows, and coordinating vulnerability remediation across infrastructure, cloud, application, and governance teams.
Location: Onsite five days a week in East Peoria, Illinois; Nashville, Tennessee; or Irving, Texas, United States. Relocation is available. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Salary: $128,470–$208,770 per year

What you will do
- Administer and govern the enterprise Qualys platform, including scan profiles, scanner appliances, Cloud Agents, asset tags, access controls, and platform health.
- Maintain integrations with ServiceNow, CMDB, cloud platforms, reporting systems, and security technologies.
- Analyze vulnerability data, threat intelligence, exploitability, and asset context to prioritize remediation using TruRisk and related Qualys capabilities.
- Evaluate AI-generated insights and predictive analytics to identify false positives, emerging trends, attack paths, and heightened exposure.
- Partner with infrastructure, cloud, application, DevOps, governance, and compliance teams on remediation, audits, documentation, and secure configurations.
- Improve vulnerability management maturity through automation, new Qualys modules, workflow enhancements, and root-cause analysis.
Requirements
- Experience in vulnerability management and security operations.
- Hands-on experience with Qualys or similar vulnerability management platforms, authenticated scanning, Cloud Agents, and asset management.
- Knowledge of Windows, Linux, TCP/IP networking, AWS, and Azure.
- Experience analyzing vulnerability data, CVSS scores, and threat intelligence.
- Familiarity with AI, machine learning, predictive risk modeling, and AI security tools such as Microsoft Copilot or Security Copilot.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across security, infrastructure, and application teams.
Nice to have
- Qualys certifications in vulnerability management, policy compliance, web application scanning, VMDR, CSAM, ETM, Cloud Agent, or EASM.
- Experience with ITIL, ServiceNow or Remedy, CI/CD pipelines, CMDB integrations, and security reporting or ticketing platforms.
- Scripting experience with Python or PowerShell.
- Experience in large-scale enterprise environments and translating technical findings into actionable guidance for non-technical teams.
