Senior Machine Learning Systems Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote - United States. Reddit may allow remote work from other countries where it has a physical presence.

Salary: $216,700–$303,400 USD base salary per year, plus potential equity and commission depending on the position.

What you will do

• Design and build offline ML experimentation platforms for reproducible research, model development, evaluation, and promotion.
• Develop production training orchestration frameworks for distributed training, hyperparameter optimization, evaluation, and automated retraining.
• Build experiment tracking, metadata, lineage, artifact versioning, model registry, and reproducibility infrastructure.
• Automate model promotion, rollback, compliance validation, and continuous evaluation workflows.
• Design agentic AI execution infrastructure with multi-agent orchestration, memory and context systems, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
• Partner with ML engineers and researchers to improve experimentation velocity and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, or large-scale distributed systems.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience building and operating production ML infrastructure, developer SDKs, platform APIs, or self-service AI tooling.
• Experience with workflow orchestration, developer platforms, or large-scale automation frameworks.
• Experience with distributed data processing technologies such as Spark, Flink, Ray, or equivalent tools.
• Experience with Kubeflow, Argo, Airflow, or similar orchestration and workflow technologies.
• Experience building ML experimentation platforms, model registries, experiment tracking systems, or training orchestration frameworks.

Nice to have

• Experience operating agentic AI systems, including multi-agent orchestration, autonomous workflows, and agent communication or runtime frameworks such as MCP and A2A.
• Experience running end-to-end model development and iteration cycles at scale.
