TL;DR
Solutions Engineer (Fintech): Designing and supporting complex merchant integrations across APIs, SDKs, ecommerce platforms, mobile apps, and custom commerce stacks with an accent on technical discovery, solution architecture, and enterprise payments. Focus on validating checkout flows, troubleshooting production integrations, and translating merchant requirements into scalable product and engineering improvements.

What you will do
- Own technical discovery for enterprise and strategic merchants, mapping their technology stacks and checkout flows to suitable integration paths.
- Lead product demos, technical presentations, architecture discussions, RFP responses, and security questionnaire completion.
- Design integrations across REST APIs, SDKs, platform plugins, mobile applications, and custom ecommerce builds.
- Validate sandbox and production integrations, including checkout flows, widgets, messaging, redirects, handoffs, and settlement.
- Troubleshoot live integration issues with Support and Engineering while maintaining the technical relationship with merchants.
- Turn recurring merchant needs into product feedback and maintain integration documentation, runbooks, and internal enablement materials.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as solutions engineering, sales engineering, implementation, solutions architecture, or technical account management.
- Experience with iOS and Android mobile SDK integrations, including guiding developers and debugging implementation issues.
- Experience supporting enterprise merchants through complex, multi-stakeholder integrations with custom commerce stacks.
- Hands-on experience with REST APIs, webhooks, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and reading code well enough to debug implementations.
- Familiarity with at least one of Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, WooCommerce, or Wix, plus ecommerce workflows including checkout, authorization, capture, refunds, shipping, and product management.
- Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and manage multiple integrations simultaneously.
Nice to have
- Experience at a payments company, PSP, or BNPL provider.
- Knowledge of payment gateway architecture, alternative payment methods, in-store or omnichannel integrations.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
