Sr Software Engineer (Medical Devices)

Salary: $124,800–$187,200 USD base salary, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

What you will do

• Evaluate software change requests for released medical devices and supporting tools.
• Design, implement, and test software changes while preserving original product design integrity.
• Participate in change control boards, risk reviews, and project meetings.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and other cross-functional stakeholders to assess and communicate impacts.
• Create technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle.
• Deliver project goals and timelines in compliance with the Quality System.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• At least 5 years of experience with C++, C#, and Java.
• Experience with Linux, Windows, and cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of object-oriented analysis and design concepts and software development best practices.
• Experience developing software for medical devices or other highly regulated environments with established change management processes.
• Unrestricted U.S. work authorization is required; this role does not offer U.S. sponsorship below the Principal level.

Nice to have

• Experience with secure software development, vulnerability remediation, cybersecurity risk management, and authentication, authorization, or encryption technologies.
• Experience using AI and automation tools to improve engineering workflows, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
• Experience leading technical discussions, facilitating technical reviews, and communicating complex concepts to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ability to drive process improvements and projects across teams without direct authority.
