What you will do

• Lead the Brain Team and provide technical expertise in Kubernetes architecture, networking, cloud infrastructure, and platform engineering.
• Design, deploy, maintain, and optimize production Kubernetes clusters on Amazon EKS, including node lifecycle management, autoscaling, and Karpenter-based capacity planning.
• Develop Kubernetes networking capabilities with Cilium and Istio, including service mesh, ingress, network policies, and traffic management.
• Build and maintain AWS infrastructure with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Drive GitOps automation using GitHub and GitHub Actions in collaboration with development, security, and platform teams.
• Troubleshoot distributed platform and application issues while establishing secure-by-default controls and mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• Must reside within the continental United States.
• U.S. citizenship is required; Government/Public Trust clearance eligibility, fingerprinting, and a background check are required.
• 8+ years of infrastructure or platform engineering experience, including 5+ years administering production Kubernetes environments.
• Hands-on experience with Amazon EKS, Kubernetes architecture, Linux, Cilium, Istio, Terraform, AWS, GitOps, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
• Experience leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, troubleshooting complex systems, and working in Agile, cross-functional environments.
• Strong communication, analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• CKA, CKS, CKAD, AWS, or Terraform certifications.
• Experience with Argo CD, Argo Rollouts, Kyverno, Helm, Kustomize, Gateway API, or Kubernetes policy management.
• Experience with secure CI/CD, Continuous ATO pipelines, container security, Aqua, and regulated cloud environments.
• Experience with internal developer portals and observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
