Entry-Level Forensic Civil/Structural Engineer (EI/EIT)

Location: Fully remote within the United States, with a preference for candidates residing in the San Antonio or Houston, Texas area. Frequent road travel and regional air travel to investigation sites is required. U.S. Persons only due to ITAR export-control requirements.

Salary: $32.00–$36.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Conduct forensic investigations of structural failures, construction defects, and other engineering matters.
• Perform site inspections and collect evidence and technical data.
• Apply civil and structural engineering principles, construction practices, codes, and standards to assess issues.
• Prepare clear technical reports describing findings, analysis, and conclusions.
• Provide expert testimony in legal proceedings when required.
• Manage multiple investigations, deadlines, and frequent travel assignments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Licensed Engineer Intern (EI/EIT) status preferred, or the ability to obtain it.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
• Ability to travel by road multiple days each week, including local travel and regional air travel.
• Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR requirements: U.S. citizen or national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with forensic engineering, structural investigations, or construction defect analysis.
• Familiarity with professional engineering licensure requirements.
