Prototype Wire Person

TL;DR

Prototype Wire Person (Satellite Communications): Producing and wiring prototype satellite communications equipment through electro-mechanical assembly, panel wiring, cabling, and PCB assembly with an accent on precision, quality, and compliance with build procedures. Focus on reading electrical and mechanical drawings, soldering and crimping components, reworking assemblies, and meeting production standards while maintaining security requirements.

Location: Onsite in Tring, Hertfordshire, England, UK. Working pattern: 9-day fortnight with every other Friday off.

What you will do

• Assemble electro-mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and complete systems from drawings and build procedures.
• Perform panel wiring, rack wiring, cable assembly, crimping, and test-box wiring.
• Complete PCB assembly, through-hole and surface-mount soldering, component assembly, and rework.
• Monitor product quality throughout the build process and support production performance improvements.
• Work within information security policies and maintain accurate, high-quality output with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• Experience in electrical or mechanical assembly and wiring, including prototype wiring.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings and follow procedures accurately.
• Strong attention to detail and consistently high quality standards.
• Ability to work independently, think creatively, and learn quickly.
• Ability to obtain and maintain BPSS security clearance is required.
