Senior Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Number One, Welcome Building, Bristol, BS2 0TR, UK; hybrid work with office attendance two days per week

What you will do

• Write high-quality software that meets corporate, regulatory, security, performance, and maintainability standards.
• Develop new product features collaboratively and act as a low-level design authority for code-level architecture.
• Build and evidence automated tests, review software engineer and agentic-produced code, and document solutions in Confluence.
• Identify vulnerabilities, drive remediation, and promote secure coding practices across the squad.
• Advance automation and agentic AI solutions while identifying process and application improvements.
• Mentor colleagues, share knowledge, support squad members, and contribute to cross-team engineering initiatives.

Requirements

• Senior-level software engineering experience and expert knowledge of one or more development languages, ideally Python or JavaScript.
• Interest in continuous learning and developing expertise in agentic AI solutions.
• Knowledge of investment products and business processes.
• Strong communication, influencing, organizational, documentation, planning, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to solve complex problems, achieve consensus, and deliver reliable, secure, and maintainable software.
• Ability to work from the Bristol office two days per week; the role is permanent and full time at 37.5 hours per week.
