Senior Data Engineer (Snowflake)

TL;DR

Senior Data Engineer (Snowflake): Building and supporting data warehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, and business intelligence systems for clinical research operations with an accent on dimensional data modeling, data integration, and reporting. Focus on designing scalable Snowflake and SQL Server solutions, developing Power BI applications, and validating software throughout the development lifecycle.

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio; office-based with occasional work from home available for eligible positions after training.

What you will do

• Develop and support data warehousing, databases, ETL/ELT pipelines, and business intelligence solutions.
• Design, enhance, and maintain Power BI systems and reporting applications.
• Gather, analyze, and document user requirements and business processes.
• Build software through requirements gathering, design, development, testing, release, and maintenance.
• Participate in software validation by developing, reviewing, and executing test plans, cases, and scripts.
• Provide end-user application support and collaborate with team members on projects, tools, and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering.
• Experience with dimensional data modeling, Star Schema, and Snowflake schema designs.
• Strong ETL development and reporting knowledge based on business processes and measures.
• Required: SQL Server database knowledge and experience with REST APIs.
• Excellent analytical, written, and oral communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake, Fivetran, and dbt.
• Knowledge of Python.
• Knowledge of C# and Azure development.
