Full Stack Engineer (React/Node.js)

TL;DR

Full Stack Engineer (React/Node.js): Building a virtual classroom for online lessons with an accent on scalable full-stack architecture, real-time collaboration, and event-driven services. Focus on designing secure REST APIs, integrating AWS serverless components, and delivering accessible multi-user interfaces with AI-assisted development tools.

Location: Remote from anywhere in the world, or hybrid work from offices in Kyiv, Lviv, or Warsaw. The project is for the USA and starts October 1.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications with React, Node.js, and TypeScript.
• Build secure backend services, REST APIs, and event-driven solutions using AWS.
• Implement features, improve existing functionality, troubleshoot issues, and maintain high-quality code.
• Integrate backend services with third-party systems and support real-time collaborative experiences.
• Participate in solution design, estimation, sprint planning, technical discussions, and code reviews.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and stakeholders across different geographies.

Requirements

• 3+ years of commercial software development experience, including 3+ years with Node.js and TypeScript and 3+ years with React and TypeScript.
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, modern React architecture, React Hooks, functional components, and state management.
• Experience designing scalable REST APIs and backend services with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, S3, Cognito, IAM, SNS, SQS, and EventBridge.
• Experience with serverless and event-driven architectures, DynamoDB or other NoSQL databases, WebSockets, and real-time multi-user applications.
• Experience with TanStack Query, Vite, component libraries, responsive accessible interfaces, and unit or integration testing.
• Upper-Intermediate English required in spoken and written communication.

Nice to have

• EdTech experience.
• Experience integrating AI services through AWS Bedrock or working with Anthropic Claude models.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Codex.
• MediaStreams experience for audio, video, or screen capture.
• Webpack experience.
