TL;DR

Senior Fullstack Software Engineer (TypeScript): Building customer-facing data intelligence applications for hospitals, from database query contracts and API layers to interactive visualization interfaces, with an accent on analytical data access, performance, and product-focused UX. Focus on designing reusable application architecture, implementing LLM-mediated workflows, and translating complex healthcare methodology into intuitive, high-performance products.

Location: Hybrid work in Hamburg or Berlin, Germany; flex-time is available. Work from abroad is permitted for up to 30 calendar days per year.

What you will do

  • Architect, build, and maintain data intelligence applications spanning database query contracts, APIs, and interactive user interfaces.
  • Own the shared application API layer by composing platform services and published data models into stable contracts.
  • Design caching, materialization, pagination, and streaming strategies for low-latency analytics over cloud data warehouses.
  • Build advanced hospital benchmarking and peer-comparison visualizations using reusable patterns and appropriate rendering technologies.
  • Implement LLM-driven interfaces with retrieval workflows, tool integration, structured outputs, streaming, and latency and cost evaluation.
  • Set engineering standards, improve testing discipline, shape architecture, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of full-stack software engineering experience building data-dense web applications, interactive visualizations, and customer-facing products.
  • Deep production experience with TypeScript across React or Next.js on the client and Node.js with Fastify, Express, or NestJS on the server.
  • Experience creating custom interactive visualizations with D3.js and tools such as Visx, ECharts, or Vega-Lite, using SVG, Canvas, or WebGL where appropriate.
  • Strong analytical SQL skills, including window functions, CTEs, and multi-level aggregations, plus experience with materialization and caching over columnar cloud warehouses.
  • Expertise in client-side caching, request coalescing, streaming, table virtualization, and reusable API, component, or design-system abstractions.
  • Fluent English is required; German is a plus. A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering, HCI, or a related technical field is expected.

Nice to have

  • Production experience integrating LLMs through retrieval or RAG, tool calls, streaming, and evaluation metrics.
  • Experience with enterprise authorization and strict multi-tenant data segregation.
  • Experience operating AWS microservices with observability, logging, CI/CD, and performance monitoring.
  • Healthcare, hospital benchmarking, healthcare KPI, or medical data workflow knowledge.
