People Operations Specialist (HRIS)

Location: 100% remote within the United States; flexible hours may be required, with travel of up to 5% including occasional overnight and out-of-state trips. Candidates must be authorized to work for any employer in the US without current or future visa sponsorship.

Salary: $26.00–$31.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding and process employee lifecycle changes, including hires, promotions, transfers, compensation changes, leaves, and terminations.
• Maintain accurate employee records, organizational data, state-specific forms, audit trails, and compliance documentation in Dayforce and other People systems.
• Administer background screenings, motor vehicle record monitoring, I-9 verification, employment verifications, and related documentation through HireRight and Samba Safety.
• Partner with Payroll, IT, HRIS, managers, and the broader People Team to complete transactions and improve workflows.
• Identify opportunities to simplify and automate People processes using HR technology, Dayforce functionality, AI, and other tools.
• Develop SOPs, support reporting and audits, participate in system implementations and testing, and respond to employee and manager inquiries.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least three years of experience in HR coordination, HR specialization, People Operations, or a similar HR operations role.
• Experience processing employee lifecycle transactions in an HRIS; Dayforce experience is strongly preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office, strong technical aptitude, and familiarity with virtual collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams and Slack.
• Exceptional attention to detail, organization, confidentiality, communication, judgment, and cross-functional collaboration.
• US work authorization without current or future visa sponsorship is required; flexibility to work variable hours and travel up to 5% is also required.

Nice to have

• Experience documenting workflows, business processes, and SOPs.
• Experience using AI productivity tools such as ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot.
• Experience with HR technology implementations, system enhancements, testing, HR reporting, data validation, or audits.
