What you will do
- Deliver the end-to-end BAU calibration process for the in-house economic scenario generator, including execution, validation, interpretation and issue resolution.
- Research academic, market and industry approaches and translate suitable findings into practical model enhancements.
- Develop and implement changes to model design, calibration, assumptions and limitations, including for public and private market assets.
- Validate model outputs to ensure they are explainable, robust and fit for business use.
- Build and maintain analytical tools in line with good development practices and control requirements.
- Produce clear methodology, model-change and validation documentation for technical and governance audiences.
Requirements
- Relevant quantitative degree in mathematics, statistics, financial engineering or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of stochastic asset return modelling, distributional assumptions, time-series modelling, volatility dynamics and tail risk.
- Research mindset with the ability to assess and apply academic, market and industry approaches.
- Strong programming skills in Python and Excel/VBA for model development, analysis and validation.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to explain complex outputs and create structured documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work within structured timelines and control requirements.
