Lead Data Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Data and AI Engineers with clear goals and career support.
• Provide technical leadership including code reviews and architecture decisions.
• Drive delivery of advanced AI-powered solutions coordinating priorities and resources.
• Design and oversee scalable cloud infrastructure for AI services ensuring performance and cost efficiency.
• Identify automation opportunities and guide implementation to streamline workflows.
• Align with product, data, and business leaders to focus on high-impact work.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in Hamburg or Berlin, Germany
• 5+ years experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering with team leadership.
• Strong Python skills for scalable data pipelines and backend services.
• Experience with AWS cloud infrastructure, Apache Airflow, Docker, and git.
• Deep understanding of AI principles including foundation models and prompt engineering.
• Excellent English communication skills required.
