Senior Software Engineer - Data Services (AWS)

Location: Hybrid role based in Galway, County Galway, Ireland.

Salary: €65,600–€98,400 per year, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan.

What you will do

• Design and deploy CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions.
• Build proactive monitoring and alerting for data services and cloud platforms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, including on-call support.
• Automate routine operational tasks and deliver work within established deadlines.
• Mentor junior engineers on project support and technical skill development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree at Level 8 in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 4 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 2 years of experience.
• Experience with data architecture, including JSON/Avro schema development and ERD-based solutions.
• Experience with AWS and native services including Glue, Athena, Lake Formation, and Lambda.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, ideally Terraform, and open-source tools such as Apache Spark and Iceberg.
• Experience working in Agile teams using Scrum or Kanban, automating routine tasks, and providing on-call support.

Nice to have

• PySpark experience.
• AWS certifications.
