What you will do

• Lead the design and development of fault-tolerant distributed systems for email routing and security infrastructure.
• Drive technical strategy for migrating legacy email systems to modern, API-driven platforms.
• Integrate AI-powered tooling for on-call automation, anomaly detection, and intelligent routing.
• Develop robust APIs and libraries used by internal teams, ensuring high reliability and observability.
• Partner with Security and Compliance teams to re-architect perimeter security for email flows.
• Mentor junior engineers and define org-wide engineering best practices and code quality standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a tech lead or mentor for engineering teams.
• Deep expertise in architecture and design of large-scale distributed systems or web services.
• Proficiency in one or more of: Java, Python, Go, or C++.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings.
• Strong knowledge of system optimization, reliability analysis, and decision-making frameworks.

Nice to have

• Experience evaluating or building AI systems.
• Knowledge of email protocols and infrastructure (SMTP, DKIM, SPF, DMARC, MTA).
• Expertise in security practices related to spam and phishing.
• Experience implementing cloud migrations and modernization projects.
