Senior Java Developer

Location: Sydney, Australia; hybrid work with at least 2 days per week in the office, potentially increasing to 3 days. Candidates must have full working rights in Australia and Australian citizenship or permanent residency.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions based on product and client requirements.
• Build and maintain secure applications of increasing scope and complexity.
• Extend existing systems by adding functionality, improving performance, and adapting them to new environments.
• Ensure cross-platform compatibility and monitor post-deployment performance.
• Contribute to architecture, database design, and technical direction.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3 years of hands-on Java development experience.
• Strong understanding of software design principles, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience designing, analyzing, and querying relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment, secure coding, and cross-platform or multi-environment development.
• Full working rights in Australia, with Australian citizenship or permanent residency required.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Background in data warehousing or large-scale data systems.
• Knowledge of application security best practices.
