Java Developer

Location: Sydney, New South Wales, Australia; hybrid with at least 2 days per week in the office, potentially increasing to 3 days

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions that meet product and client requirements.
• Build and maintain security-focused applications with increasing scope and complexity.
• Extend existing systems by adding functionality, improving performance, and adapting to new environments.
• Ensure cross-platform compatibility across software deliverables.
• Monitor production improvements and iterate based on performance outcomes.
• Contribute to architecture, database design, and technical direction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3 years of hands-on Java development experience.
• Strong understanding of software design principles, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience designing, analyzing, and querying relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment practices and writing secure, testable, maintainable code.
• Experience with cross-platform or multi-environment development. Full working rights in Australia are required; applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with data warehousing or large-scale data systems.
• Background or interest in application security best practices.
