Senior Clinical Operations Asset Director (Immunology, Neurology, Ophthalmology, and CVRM): Leading operational strategy and execution for early clinical development assets across complex therapeutic areas with an accent on global trial planning, portfolio alignment, and operational excellence. Focus on influencing cross-functional asset teams, building scalable processes, developing high-performing organizations, and applying digital or AI-enabled solutions to improve clinical delivery.
Location: Hybrid role based at the South San Francisco, California campus, with onsite presence expected at least 3 days per week. Relocation benefits are not available.
Salary: $215,000–$399,400 annually, plus potential discretionary annual bonus and benefits.

What you will do
- Lead operational strategy for one or more early clinical development assets across Immunology, Neurology, Ophthalmology, and/or Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism.
- Represent Clinical Operations on cross-functional asset teams and influence study design, feasibility, timelines, and execution strategies.
- Develop scalable processes, innovative solutions, and best practices that improve delivery, quality, cost, and speed.
- Partner with Therapeutic Area leadership and stakeholders to identify risks and guide strategic portfolio decisions.
- Build Clinical Operations capabilities through workforce planning, organizational change, talent development, and continuous improvement.
- Lead, coach, and mentor high-performing teams while representing Clinical Operations in governance and enterprise initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific or healthcare discipline; an advanced degree such as an MS or PhD is preferred.
- At least 14 years of clinical development or related pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience, including significant early clinical development experience.
- Demonstrated leadership of complex global clinical programs, assets, or portfolios.
- Experience managing and developing high-performing teams, including direct people leadership within matrix organizations.
- Deep knowledge of global clinical development, ICH-GCP, regulatory requirements, and operational best practices.
- Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence senior leaders without direct authority.
