Staff AI Engineer

Location: Remote from Colombia, with reliable overlap with US business hours.

Salary: Col$6,000–Col$7,000 per month.

What you will do

• Manage and mentor engineers on the Colombia team, improving technical growth, code quality, and delivery.
• Set engineering standards through code reviews, pairing, reference implementations, and reusable development practices.
• Lead architecture decisions for agentic workflows, RAG pipelines, document processing, automation, and production AI systems.
• Build and ship end-to-end solutions spanning LLM orchestration, evaluation, data pipelines, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
• Evaluate emerging models and frameworks and convert successful client-build lessons into internal tools, templates, and documentation.
• Collaborate with clients to translate ambiguous business problems into system designs, delivery plans, and measurable outcomes.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years building production LLM-powered systems such as RAG, agents, or structured extraction.
• Demonstrated technical leadership through mentoring or managing engineers and improving their performance through review, pairing, and guidance.
• Expert-level Python and strong full-stack fundamentals.
• Production experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure, including deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of prompt and context engineering, evaluation, embeddings, vector search, and agent orchestration frameworks.
• Fluent English, client-facing communication skills, residence in Colombia, and reliable overlap with US business hours are required.
