Senior AI Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Sofia, Bulgaria; fully distributed and remote

What you will do

• Design, build, maintain, and roll out production-grade AI applications, services, and integrations.
• Develop AI agents, agentic workflows, LLM applications, automation, and AI-assisted business processes.
• Build RAG solutions covering document ingestion, chunking, embeddings, vector search, reranking, and grounding.
• Implement AI systems with Python frameworks, React, AWS Bedrock, Bedrock AgentCore, SageMaker, and other cloud-native services.
• Contribute to ML pipelines and MLOps, including training, deployment, monitoring, evaluation, and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, data, cloud, DevOps, security, and business stakeholders on reliable AI delivery.

Requirements

• 7–8 years of professional experience in software engineering, AI engineering, ML engineering, data science, or related technical roles.
• 2–3 years of experience developing AI or ML solutions and deploying models to production.
• Strong Python development experience with FastAPI, Flask, Django, or equivalent frameworks, plus some React experience.
• Practical experience with AI agents, agentic workflows, LLM applications, RAG, embeddings, fine-tuning, evaluation, and orchestration frameworks.
• Strong AWS experience, including Bedrock, Bedrock AgentCore, SageMaker, and related AI/ML services.
• Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers, LLM APIs, vector databases, MLOps, API design, microservices, security, and governance.

Nice to have

• Experience with Bedrock Agents, Knowledge Bases, Guardrails, Docker, EKS/ECS, Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
• Experience with data platforms, real-time processing, responsible AI, observability, enterprise integrations, or AI governance.
• AWS certifications, open-source contributions, technical publications, conference talks, patents, or fintech experience.
