TL;DR

Senior Principal Robotics & AMR Automation Platforms Engineer (Robotics): Developing and scaling reusable robotics platforms for hirify.global’s manufacturing network with an accent on autonomous mobile robots, collaborative robots, perception, fleet management, and regulated automation. Focus on architecting complex robotic systems, validating factory deployments, establishing enterprise standards, and enabling replication across manufacturing sites.

Location: Fridley, Minnesota, United States; onsite four days per week with one day remote and approximately 25% travel. U.S. work authorization is required; sponsorship is available for Principal-level roles and above. The role is based in the United States, excluding Puerto Rico for the stated salary range.

Salary: $178,400–$267,600 USD base salary, plus eligibility for the hirify.global Incentive Plan and employee benefits.

What you will do

  • Serve as the enterprise technical authority for AMRs, cobots, mobile manipulators, and emerging intelligent robotics technologies.
  • Define robotics strategy, platform architectures, technical roadmaps, standards, governance, and reusable capabilities.
  • Architect systems integrating robotics, machine vision, 3D perception, end-of-arm tooling, safety systems, industrial controls, fleet-management software, and IT/OT infrastructure.
  • Lead technology development from feasibility and prototyping through integration, factory validation, and global deployment.
  • Evaluate AI-enabled perception and manipulation, robotic foundation models, simulation, digital twins, and advanced fleet-management technologies.
  • Provide technical direction, mentor engineers, build external partnerships, and establish an Automation Platforms laboratory.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 8+ years with an advanced degree.
  • 10+ years developing and deploying AMRs, cobots, industrial robots, mobile manipulators, or advanced automation in production manufacturing.
  • Recognized technical expertise and leadership across complex multidisciplinary robotics or advanced manufacturing programs.
  • Experience developing reusable robotics platforms, architectures, standards, or solutions deployed across multiple applications or sites.
  • Experience with AMR fleet management, autonomous navigation, facility and traffic assessment, interoperability, material-flow optimization, and advanced robotic manipulation.
  • Knowledge of robotics safety standards, cybersecurity, equipment validation, and lifecycle management in regulated manufacturing environments; U.S. work authorization is required.

Nice to have

  • Experience integrating machine vision, 3D perception, safety systems, industrial controls, fleet-management software, and IT/OT systems.
  • Experience with AI-enabled robotics, machine-learning-based motion planning, simulation, digital twins, or robotic foundation models.
  • Medical-device manufacturing or other regulated-environment experience.
  • Advanced degree in robotics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, controls, computer science, mechatronics, or a related field.
