What you will do

• Lead the development of next-generation PLC, HMI, and SCADA software and controls architectures for factory modules.
• Define and develop automation software standards, frameworks, and best practices.
• Architect and commission advanced automation systems and first-article factory modules.
• Develop controls systems for new and experimental processes within an R&D environment.
• Collaborate with cross-functional technical teams to ensure deliverables are executed on time and within budget.
• Provide technical leadership to drive the hands-on execution of a high-performing engineering team.

Requirements

• 10+ years of industrial automation controls experience in dynamic environments.
• Proficiency in IEC 61131-3 Structured Text programming.
• Industrial electrical and safety experience.
• Ability to lawfully access information subject to US export controls.
• Must be able to work 100% onsite in Torrance, CA.

Nice to have

• Advanced experience with the Beckhoff TwinCAT and hardware ecosystem.
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 79, and UL508A standards.
• Experience developing SCADA platforms, industrial databases, and dashboards.
• Expertise in industrial robot platforms, offline programming, and virtual commissioning.
• Proficiency with electrical schematic tools like EPlan or AutoCAD Electrical.
• Knowledge of OOP, SOLID principles, and version control using GIT.
