Lead Data Engineer (Logistics)

Location: Remote within the United States, Monday through Friday, generally from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with flexibility based on coverage.

Salary: $135,000–$155,000 annually, plus eligibility for annual performance incentives.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to a team of data engineers.
• Manage backlog grooming, sprint planning, prioritization, and delivery for data engineering projects.
• Design, develop, and maintain robust pipelines from transportation management systems and other data sources.
• Build and evolve data structures, the Data Vault, data warehouses, and data marts.
• Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and completeness through validation and monitoring.
• Partner with business leaders, executives, clients, engineers, and vendors on data strategy and technical initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; backgrounds in business administration, mathematics, computer science, or a related field are preferred.
• 8+ years of technology experience with Amazon RDS/Aurora/MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or Snowflake.
• Exceptional SQL development and performance tuning skills.
• Strong Python experience, including Pandas, Streamlit, NumPy, JSON, CSV, and Requests.
• Strong communication, leadership, adaptability, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be able to work remotely from within the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with TMS, WMS, Data Vault 2.0, Fivetran, Azure Data Factory, REST APIs, cloud platforms, Coalesce.io, or YAML.
• Experience with Git, DevOps, CI/CD, data deployments, and infrastructure modernization.
