Senior Software Developer / Fullstack Developer (Digital Health)

Location: Namibia. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Namibia and provide proof of work eligibility upon request.

Digital health program focused on building and scaling platforms for Namibia’s national health information ecosystem.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of frontend and backend components for digital health platforms, including the Digital Community System.
• Customize applications for local workflows, user feedback, and policy requirements.
• Maintain backend services and data models supporting reliable data exchange between health information systems.
• Implement offline-first functionality, background synchronization, local data storage, security, responsiveness, and performance improvements.
• Integrate EMRs, EDT, DHIS2, legacy systems, and modern digital health platforms using national and international interoperability standards.
• Conduct code reviews, user testing, and field pilots while maintaining documentation and mentoring junior developers and local development teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of software development experience, preferably with health information systems.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, Angular or React, Node, Java, or similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, Git, CI/CD pipelines, software versioning, documentation, and quality assurance.
• Strong communication skills and a user-centered design orientation.
• Legal authorization to work in Namibia is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with DHIS2, OpenMRS, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with offline-first design and health system applications.
