Location: Richmond, California; on-site 3β4 days per week preferred, with remote work considered for the right candidate. Hands-on work at the test track and project sites is required.
Salary: $150,000β$190,000 USD plus stock options, commensurate with experience.

What you will do
- Own the integration and on-track landing of new GATN capabilities, including safety behaviors, dispatch functions, ticketing flows, and availability improvements.
- Design and execute Tier 2+ integration scenarios across vehicles, wayside systems, and dispatch or operations control systems.
- Improve regression and mileage-accumulation test suites, including test coverage, sequencing, and release-gating criteria.
- Review logs, metrics, and track behavior to assess safety-function health and recommend parameter or design changes.
- Coordinate release readiness, multi-vehicle integration, and testing across project sites and customer locations.
- Lead technical triage, root-cause analysis, requirements translation, and improvements to integration tooling and test infrastructure.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field.
- 4+ years of experience in a relevant industry and at least 1 year in systems integration and test, system test, or verification and validation for complex hardware/software systems.
- Experience planning and executing systems-level test campaigns, including scenario design, success criteria, and analysis.
- Strong root-cause analysis skills across software and hardware interfaces, with comfort working hands-on at a test track.
- Ability to collaborate across autonomy, embedded, systems, operations, and product teams and drive alignment without direct authority.
- Experience with shipped products and disciplined systems thinking, including requirements traceability and verification planning.
Nice to have
- Masterβs degree in systems, mechanical, electrical, or software engineering.
- Experience with autonomous vehicles, robotics, transit systems, or complex integrated hardware/software products.
- Familiarity with HIL, SIL, simulation frameworks, Jama, SysML, or DOORS.
- Experience delivering safety-critical products and exposure to safety, reliability, operational envelope, availability, or RAMS topics.
