Staff Software Engineer (Access Management)

Location: Bellevue, Washington, United States; collaboration with engineering in Mountain View.

Salary: $180,500–$203,025 USD annually, with potential bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Set technical direction for the Access Management engineering team.
• Evolve the platform's core authorization service, which is on the critical path of access-control decisions.
• Migrate and consolidate permission checks onto a unified authorization model.
• Build fine-grained access controls, including scoped service identities, delegated access, and role-based access control.
• Develop network ingress access policies for customer resources.
• Improve the availability, reliability, throughput, and latency of authorization infrastructure.

Requirements

• Deep expertise in access management, identity, or authorization systems.
• Strong distributed systems and security fundamentals.
• Experience providing technical leadership across teams or locations.
• A track record of designing and shipping backend services at scale.
