Staff Software Engineer (GitHub Actions)

Location: Remote within the United States

Base salary: USD $140,400.00–$372,300.00 per year, with potential benefits, annual bonus, and stock depending on the role and individual impact.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and ship scalable software across hirify.global services.
• Build and maintain APIs and core infrastructure supporting hirify.global Actions and large-scale CI/CD workflows.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture, mentoring, pairing, code reviews, and roadmap development.
• Improve reliability, monitoring, alerting, runbooks, incident response, and operational excellence.
• Design isolation mechanisms for untrusted code execution and partner with security teams on enterprise security requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders on technical solutions, cost considerations, testing strategies, and customer feedback.

Requirements

• At least 9 years of experience in software engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience; alternative education and experience combinations are accepted.
• Production software development experience with languages such as Go, Ruby, Rust, Python, JavaScript, C, C++, C#, or Java.
• Willingness and ability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule providing 24/7 coverage for 1–2 weeks each quarter.
• Experience designing scalable systems, APIs, testing strategies, and production services.
• Must be able to work remotely from the United States.

Nice to have

• At least 2 years of technical leadership experience.
• At least 3 years of experience with general-purpose programming languages such as Go or Ruby.
• At least 3 years of experience with scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
• Experience building or operating CI/CD systems at scale.
