Salary: $165,200–$223,600 annually, plus sign-on payments and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and optimize core platform components for Amazon Quick.
• Build scalable, efficient, and fault-tolerant services that power generative and agentic AI experiences.
• Deliver strategic technical projects and large-scale, multi-tiered software systems.
• Address complex engineering challenges involving distributed applications, reliability, and performance.
• Provide technical leadership on complex issues and mentor other engineers.
• Collaborate with AI/ML practitioners, applied scientists, software engineers, and solution architects to deliver customer-focused solutions.

Requirements

• Based in Santa Clara, California, United States.
• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Experience developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed applications using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
• Experience with object-oriented design and at least one programming language.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with machine learning systems.
• 3+ years covering the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, builds, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
