What you will do
- Design, simulate, and optimize DFB lasers for high-speed optical communication applications.
- Perform tolerance analysis to improve device performance, power efficiency, and reliability.
- Lead test-chip execution from layout and tapeout through validation and data analysis.
- Develop photonic modeling methodologies and propose new testing approaches.
- Research emerging photonic technologies, define next-generation architectures, and support lectual property programs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary engineering teams to integrate photonic components into system-level designs.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field with 6+ years of relevant experience, or a Ph.D. with 4+ years of industry experience.
- Extensive experience designing and simulating DFB lasers, including InP epitaxial design.
- Industrial experience developing DFB lasers for high-volume manufacturing and taking designs through product qualification.
- Experience analyzing photonic component or integrated circuit test data using statistical tools or data libraries.
- Availability for on-site work in Santa Clara, California.

- MATLAB programming experience and Python-based data analysis.
- Experience with Cadence and KLayout layout tools.
- System-level modeling expertise for optical link performance and scalability.
- Published peer-reviewed research in photonics technologies.
