Senior Machine Learning & Autonomy Engineering (AI/ML)

Location: San Diego, California, United States. U.S. person status or eligibility for an export license is required under ITAR/EAR; U.S. citizenship is required for some contracts.

Salary: $123,500–$188,500 per year

What you will do

• Develop, apply, and evaluate machine learning algorithms for detection and signal processing problems.
• Analyze and manage large RF datasets for model training and testing.
• Build data-processing pipelines and automate manual workflows to improve efficiency.
• Apply digital signal processing techniques to denoise and precondition spectrograms.
• Analyze real-world results to identify root causes, statistical trends, and data quality improvements.
• Collaborate with AI/ML, software engineering, research and development, and field test teams.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in machine learning, computer science, applied mathematics, or a related field, plus 3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong foundation in digital signal processing principles and techniques.
• Professional proficiency in Python and experience with machine learning, statistical signal processing, or pattern recognition.
• Strong data-handling skills and experience working with large, complex datasets.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person or be eligible for approval of an export license under ITAR/EAR; some positions require current U.S. citizenship.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with PyTorch or similar deep learning frameworks.
• Familiarity with MLOps practices, including model training, versioning, and deployment.
• Experience with spectral analysis, adaptive filtering, or detection and estimation theory.
• Exposure to Counter-UAS, radar, electronic warfare, or defense RF systems.
