Sr. AI/ML Engineer - Systems (AI/ML)

Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States; onsite at the Midwest headquarters

Salary: $129,600–$220,300 annually

What you will do

• Integrate AI/ML components into existing applications, services, and data pipelines.
• Improve latency, throughput, reliability, and resource efficiency through system and model performance optimization.
• Design and implement scalable, resilient AI/ML systems for evolving business use cases.
• Ensure enterprise standards for security, compliance, observability, and operational readiness.
• Deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain AI/ML systems in production.
• Collaborate with ML engineers, subject-matter experts, software engineers, product partners, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, or a related field; a master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
• At least 8 years of relevant software engineering experience and 3–5 years of AI/ML experience deploying production solutions.
• Proficiency in Python or similar languages, with experience in TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, or comparable libraries; RAG experience is essential.
• Strong knowledge of statistics, machine learning algorithms, deep learning, neural networks, and system architecture.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms, DevOps, data processing, Git, CI/CD, agile methodologies, and system design patterns.
• Ability to lead technical projects, work in matrix environments, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with MLOps or ML systems engineering, including monitoring, model versioning, rollback strategies, or CI/CD.
• Familiarity with containerized or cloud-based deployment environments.
• Experience with performance tuning, reliability engineering, or operational support for AI/ML systems.
• Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant field.
