Chemical Process Engineer

What you will do

• Design, optimize, troubleshoot, and improve chemical manufacturing processes to increase safety, quality, efficiency, reliability, throughput, yield, and production capacity.
• Provide technical support for manufacturing operations, including process upsets and equipment-related issues.
• Develop and maintain PFDs, P&IDs, operating procedures, and process calculations.
• Support process scale-up, new product introductions, technology transfer, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on waste reduction, cost savings, energy efficiency, and operational excellence.
• Participate in PHA, HAZOP, MOC, deviation investigation, root-cause analysis, and corrective-action activities while maintaining safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage and support capital and process improvement projects, including scope development, equipment selection, installation, commissioning, process data analysis, and long-term reliability improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 3–5 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, refining, petrochemical, specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or related process manufacturing environments.
• Experience supporting continuous process manufacturing operations.
• Demonstrated experience solving complex process and operational issues.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Operations, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, and EHS teams.

Nice to have

• 5–8 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, refining, petrochemical, specialty chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or related process manufacturing environments.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification and OSHA Process Safety Management training.
• Experience with chemical process design and optimization, process control systems including DCS and PLC platforms, SPC methodologies, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma tools.
• Understanding of heat transfer, fluid flow, reaction engineering, and mass transfer principles.
• Experience with process simulation, modeling, and data analysis tools.
