TL;DR
Deputy Director – Test Labs, Validation & Proving Grounds (Automotive): Leading the planning, execution, and reporting of vehicle tests and validation for PATAC programs with an accent on operational strategy, resource management, and global workshare alignment. Focus on driving the "Drive to Virtual" strategy, managing large-scale proving grounds, and optimizing test lab efficiency.
Location: On-site in Pudong, Shanghai, China (Full-time)

What you will do
- Define and drive the T&V&PG strategy and roadmap aligned with SGM and PATAC product portfolios.
- Lead validation planning, execution, and reporting for vehicle programs under PATAC responsibility.
- Co-lead test lab operations in Shanghai and Guangde and oversee Proving Grounds activities.
- Coordinate workshare definitions with global and local stakeholders and secure leadership approval.
- Evaluate and recommend investments in personnel, tools, and facilities to support future capabilities.
- Drive the "Drive to Virtual" strategy to increase the implementation of virtual validation methods.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related major.
- 10+ years of engineering experience in the automotive or closely related industry.
- Proven track record of leading complex test/validation operations, including proving grounds and labs.
- Experience working within global, matrixed organizations and joint ventures.
- Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate business objectives into operational plans.
- Must report to PATAC in Shanghai, China on a full-time basis.
Nice to have
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing engineering or test/validation organizations.
