QA Automation Engineer I (Playwright)

What you will do

• Build, update, and maintain automated UI and API tests with Playwright and TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Expand test coverage for new features, regression areas, and high-risk customer journeys.
• Execute test suites, analyze failures, and distinguish product defects from test issues.
• Validate REST APIs and troubleshoot failed tests using logs, screenshots, browser traces, and developer tools.
• Support CI execution through GitHub Actions and contribute to code reviews and framework improvements.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA colleagues while contributing to manual and exploratory testing when appropriate.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of software testing experience with hands-on automation for web-based or SaaS products.
• Practical experience with Playwright and TypeScript/JavaScript for automated testing.
• Understanding of test design, regression coverage, defect reporting, risk-based testing, selectors, assertions, test data, and reusable test structures.
• Working knowledge of REST API testing with Playwright API testing, Postman, or similar tools.
• Basic familiarity with Git, CI/CD workflows, and investigating failures using logs, screenshots, traces, and developer tools.
• Good English communication skills and the ability to work remotely from Vietnam.

Nice to have

• Docker experience in local or CI test execution.
• Basic SQL and database validation skills.
• Exposure to Datadog, CloudWatch, k6, or JMeter.
• Experience testing e-commerce or SaaS platforms.
• Interest in AI-assisted testing tools and productivity workflows.
